DATAGROUP stands for top performance in all aspects of its customers' IT - so that they in turn can deliver top performance in their core business. At Harry-Brot, this business is far removed from IT, but is unthinkable today without it: Founded in Hamburg in 1688, the company is now the market leader for bread and baked goods in Germany. With around 5,000 employees and ten production sites, it generates annual sales of more than EUR 1.05 billion. DATAGROUP has also been part of this success story since 2021, ensuring that Harry-Brot's IT always runs smoothly in 24/7 operation.
In 2021, DATAGROUP won over Harry-Brot in a tender for the outsourcing of IT services. The transition will start towards the end of 2021 - as a "4 in 1" project:
After six challenging months, it was done: the teams from Harry-Brot and DATAGROUP had successfully brought this major transition project across the finish line together. The close, cooperative and professional collaboration between the IT experts from the customer and the service provider was a key factor in this achievement from the outset. Those involved report that the project was accompanied by a strong sense of enjoyment and motivation. Since the completion of the transition, DATAGROUP has been operating the IT systems.
The production and delivery of baked goods is the "heart" of Harry-Brot's business and is supported on the IT side by an SAP system and a warehouse management system (WMS). The entire process chain - from purchasing to production to sales - is mapped there. Several thousand automated jobs in the system ensure that a wide variety of baked goods can be produced and sold freshly and to the highest quality standards around the clock.
When DATAGROUP began supporting the SAP "Basis" & "Platform" services, its experts took responsibility for this "centerpiece". In order to maintain the existing high degree of standardization and up-to-dateness in the area of process automation, which also characterizes DATAGROUP services, it was necessary to replace the "Tivoli Workload Scheduler" system previously operated by Harry-Brot with the DATAGROUP standard "UC4". This new introduction was followed by the transition of the automated jobs. The experts from DATAGROUP and Harry-Brot were able to consolidate the previously around 5,000 jobs to 3,500. For Harry-Brot, the most important aspect of this sub-project was that all processes continued to run reliably and without interruption despite the system change - which was made possible by working together and thus ensured the highest level of satisfaction at Harry-Brot.
With DATAGROUP, the customer company now relies comprehensively on IT outsourcing by obtaining the following services:
All these services are orchestrated for the customer with IT service management (ITSM) and corresponding tools, which are also the responsibility of DATAGROUP.
"DATAGROUP convinced us in the tender with its comprehensive range of IT services that can be flexibly adapted to our needs. Even during the transition, we were impressed by how smoothly and punctually they worked. The fact that DATAGROUP's transition manager is now also responsible for IT operations was a further argument in our favor - no know-how was lost. We are extremely satisfied with the cooperation, because DATAGROUP's professional and at the same time pragmatic and uncomplicated approach is a guarantee of success for IT operations."
