With the help of the OPRA maintenance software , the Wieland Group digitized its maintenance processes in a pilot project and integrated them into the SAP PM structures. Paper-based steps were reduced, which not only increased efficiency but also relieved the maintenance staff of time-consuming paper-based documentation and manual data transfers.

Measurable, efficient and digital

Prior to the introduction of the OPRA maintenance solution, Wieland Werke used various systems to maintain its maintenance processes: from SAP PM to Excel lists and paper-based handouts. The connection between the individual systems was often still based on manual data transfers. The company wanted to make these processes leaner and more digital and decided on a pilot project with OPRA with the aim of not only simplifying the processes, but also making maintenance more efficient and measurable.

OPRA is a mobile maintenance solution that can be perfectly integrated into SAP. Maintenance staff can use the software solution to create, assign and track tasks. The maintenance staff in the plant itself can work with mobile devices. These provide them with all the information they need for their work, from current tasks to comprehensive information about the machines being serviced or the exact storage locations for required spare parts. They can document their activities directly via the intuitive app interface, eliminating the need for time-consuming paper-based documentation. Thanks to digitalization, the data is available to the responsible persons quickly and up-to-date at all times.

OPRA thrives on the exchange with and feedback from customers. Based on this feedback, the software is regularly revised or changes are implemented. One focus is also on increasing user acceptance. Well thought-out processes tailored to the processes of maintenance staff on site and useful content for them are a focus of the solution. The aim is to support maintenance staff exactly as they need it.

By using the solution and the associated digitalization, processes are simplified. Efficiency increases, data is available at all times and is easier to measure. This not only supports the work of reporting and management, but also that of the maintenance staff directly on site.

Wieland's Ulm site acted as a pilot project. OPRA is currently being prepared for rollout at the Vöhringen, Austria and USA sites.

"OPRA is a great solution that significantly supports us in the digitalization of maintenance. We also appreciate the excellent work of the DATAGROUP project team."
