Initial situation

The Berner Group has set itself the goal of adapting its highly integrated SAP and non-SAP system landscape to future business requirements. The B2B wholesale company chose DATAGROUP as its IT service provider. The following maxims were defined in the decision-making process: Flexibility, service orientation, business orientation, transparency and best practice, continuous performance improvement at always competitive prices, cost savings.

Services

DATAGROUP operates the SAP landscape and other systems (webshop, PIM and peripheral systems) of the Berner Group in the private cloud to the full satisfaction of the customer and will continue to provide BERNER with strategic support following the early extension of the contract.

Services

Since the successful completion of the six-month transition phase, DATAGROUP has been providing operational services for BERNER in the SAP environment. This includes

  • Hosting & operation of the existing SAP landscape
  • Hosting & operation of the existing non-SAP systems
  • Operation of the system landscape
  • Proactive monitoring of the systems, timely detection of problems with business-critical applications incl. 24/7 coverage of service availability
  • Architecture and design consulting
  • Project management

In addition to the listed services, DATAGROUP provides the target landscape for the S/4 HANA transformation and operates the systems.

Projects

The development of the IT landscape hosted by DATAGROUP was expanded and supported in numerous projects:

  • Consolidation and restructuring of the webshop DBs (Oracle)
  • Migration and basic support for the archive system (Saperion)
  • Transformation of the job management tool from Cronacle to Atomic (UC/4)
  • AMS support for SAP PO: monitoring and development
  • Migration of further non-SAP systems to consolidate and further develop BERNER's IT landscape
