The financial management of many companies, properties, forestry holdings and estates is in the hands of the holding company Merckle Service GmbH. Around 100 employees at five locations manage the assets of the Merckle Group, which is one of the largest family-owned companies in Germany. Merckle Service GmbH has been relying on DATAGROUP since 2010 and has used a wide range of CORBOX services ever since.
Due to the detailed value archiving of all companies and assets, Merckle Service GmbH has large amounts of data that need to be stored and protected. 50 servers and a Germany-wide team of eight DATAGROUP experts therefore secure the daily work of asset management on the IT side. With managed servers and managed storage, the customer uses important CORBOX services for the provision, maintenance and monitoring of the servers, which ensures the high availability of its stored data. The professional storage management is optimally tailored to the customer's needs and can be flexibly adapted. For the smooth use of all applications in the Mobile Office, DATAGROUP offers a secure and user-friendly system for end users as part of the Managed Citrix Services.
In addition to the hardware and its maintenance, DATAGROUP provides individually developed software that is adapted to the needs of the company and the family behind it. The scope of the applications and their focus are very specific: each asset group has its own management program due to a variety of parameters. Merckle Service therefore also needed a search engine that could record the entirety of all assets and thus a wide range of synonyms. This search engine was set up by DATAGROUP on the entire infrastructure environment and makes it possible to search across all applications. The customer also uses SAP to manage other processes. DATAGROUP is currently supporting the migration to S/4 HANA.
Of course, the security of its data in day-to-day business is a top priority for Merckle Service. As part of the Vulnerability Management Services (VMS), DATAGROUP checks and monitors various systems for vulnerabilities and remedies them. Regular penetration tests and a comparison of the systems used with current threat information provide the customer with a high level of security.
