Companies need a powerful data analysis platform in order to make data-based decisions and improve business performance. This is also the case for the VEDES headquarters based in Nuremberg. In addition to utilizing full IT outsourcing based on the CORBOX Managed Services and hosting the SAP systems, VEDES decided to replace the previously used data warehouse solution based on SAP NetWeaver 7.5 BW with a modern new BW/4HANA implementation to replace it. DATAGROUP provided support during the transformation process so that the company could meet the growing reporting requirements.
The previously used Business Warehouse (= BW) enabled VEDES to analyze the business data and derive a strategy from it. This database and reporting solution was to be replaced by a modern alternative in order to meet the increasing reporting requirements. For this reason, DATAGROUP conducted several workshops with VEDES. After analyzing the existing system and recording the requirements, the recommendation of a new SAP BW/4HANA implementation in the greenfield approach. This data warehouse application is based on SAP HANA technology.
With a project team optimally tailored to the customer's needs, the customer requirements were documented using data flow models in order to implement them in a HANA-optimized manner. DATAGROUP supported VEDES in the selection of suitable front-end solutions - with SAP Fiori and SAP Analytics Cloud - as well as the connection and configuration of their Microsoft and SAP Cloud solutions. Furthermore, a new naming convention was developed and the role and authorization concept was adapted to the new system architecture. To make it easier for VEDES employees to use the new BW/4HANA system and the SAP Analytics Cloud, training courses were held after the go-live.

In addition to hosting the SAP systems, DATAGROUP provides the recurring "CORBOX Managed Services" for VEDES. This includes the support of the customer's outsourced IT infrastructures in DATAGROUP's data centers - naturally with intuitive and modern management tools and monitoring. The decision to operate the data center on the CORBOX platform was of great importance to the company, as it can now take advantage of a modern and highly secure private cloud infrastructure. The CORBOX platform offers numerous future-oriented functions and technologies that ensure optimal scalability, flexibility and efficiency for IT infrastructures and operations. In addition, security measures have been enhanced to protect company data from threats and meet compliance requirements.
