2025 Lünendonk List: DATAGROUP once again among the Top 10 IT services companies in Germany

Pliezhausen, 5 June 2025 – DATAGROUP remains among the Top 10 leading IT service providers in Germany in 2025. Market researcher Lünendonk & Hossenfelder has published the current Lünendonk Lists as well as the initial results of the study on “The Market for IT Services in Germany”.

Ranking seventh in the current Lünendonk List “Leading IT Services Companies in Germany”, DATAGROUP reaffirms its strong position in the IT services market. The lists have been published alongside the first results of the study on “The Market for IT Services in Germany”. The complete research is set to be released in late July.

A changing market

The study shows that the IT services market is also affected by the economic crisis, albeit with a delay. At the same time, pioneering topics such as artificial intelligence and digital sovereignty continue to gain importance.

“In a challenging market environment, it becomes clear how vital it is to have a broad and efficient portfolio as well as close customer relationships. Our approach of providing IT services with a regional base and a strategic focus on growth areas such as AI, cloud, and cybersecurity has proven its worth. We are extremely pleased about our good ranking in the Lünendonk List,” explains Alexandra Mülders, Divisional Director of Sales at DATAGROUP.

Sovereignty is gaining importance

Driven by escalating geopolitical tensions, increased requirements for data security, and US tariffs, for instance, the growing importance of digital sovereignty is another key topic in this year’s Lünendonk Study. This trend makes local providers more attractive.

“IT services provided from Germany are increasingly becoming a strategic advantage. The combination of regional presence, legal certainty, and technological excellence enhances our clients’ confidence. DATAGROUP stands for IT ‘Made in Germany’ – sovereign, reliable, and future-ready,” highlights Andreas Baresel, Chief Executive Officer of DATAGROUP.

DATAGROUP takes on IT services for
Stadtwerke Bonn

Pliezhausen, 04 February 2025 – Stadtwerke Bonn has decided on DATAGROUP as a partner for the IT Service Desk in a call for tenders. The aim of the project is to support the municipal utility in optimizing and combining its IT services and employee support with a comprehensive 1st level and selected parts of 2nd level support. DATAGROUP already has a vast range of utility customers and therefore brings in-depth expertise in supporting municipal IT services.

Stadtwerke Bonn has the overriding goal of bundling the core commercial tasks of the group’s companies in a shared service center and providing these services, including IT services, for all subsidiaries. The IT Service Desk plays a central role here: As a single point of contact (SPOC) it is available to the group’s employees for all IT enquiries and is responsible for solving IT problems. DATAGROUP will take on 1st level support and large parts of 2nd level support for Stadtwerke Bonn with immediate effect. The agreement has a basic term of two years with the option to extend it. This means that DATAGROUP will oversee efficient IT support for some 2,400 employees at the utilities company.

A special feature of this cooperation is the intensive familiarization phase of the DATAGROUP Service Desk agents. To guarantee optimal support the new employees undergo special training, the so-called “Stadtwerke Bonn Führerschein” (driver’s license). They are directly trained by Stadtwerke Bonn and get to know the company-specific IT systems and processes in detail.

“Thorough training and comprehensive services by DATAGROUP were a decisive factor for us. It is of utmost importance that our IT services are bundled centrally and efficiently to best serve our internal customers and ensure smooth execution. We have found an experienced partner in DATAGROUP, which understands our requirements”, says Martin Mundorf, Head of Workstation Systems at Stadtwerke Bonn.

Proven partnerships with municipal service providers

These partnerships reflect the confidence which the municipal companies have placed in the IT expertise of DATAGROUP. With a strong focus on IT security, cloud services and individual support, DATAGROUP provides municipal utilities and municipal enterprises with customized services.

Andreas Baresel, Chief Executive Officer of DATAGROUP, emphasizes: “We look forward to supporting Stadtwerke Bonn with our IT Service Desk. Our experience in dealing with the requirements of utilities allows us to provide targeted services and guarantee reliable support.”

CORCompliance supports companies in complying with regulatory requirements, in relation to the corresponding IT security procedures and processes but also in areas such as Business Continuity Management (BCM). A self-sufficient infrastructure at the Hamburg location guarantees very high operational reliability, and contingency capacity is available on site which was established for the customers in an emergency. This does not only ensure ongoing continuity but also saves costs thanks to shared capacity in normal operation.

“We have created a new focal point for IT security in Hamburg with our new Control Center which meets the requirements of mid-market companies in particular”, explains Andreas Baresel, CEO of DATAGROUP. “True to the CORBOX idea, we focus on the most modern technology in a shared service approach and combine it with the human expertise of our security specialists to provide our customers with reliable and affordable services for a secure IT landscape and in case of emergency.”

DATAGROUP introduces new generation
of the CORBOX

Customized IT outsourcing services focusing on security,
compliance, cloud and AI

Pliezhausen, 20 January 2025 – DATAGROUP presents the new generation of the CORBOX: This version of the modular IT outsourcing kit offers advanced protection against cyber-attacks, flexible cloud options, current compliance and AI-supported automation. DATAGROUP’s new CORBOX modules are specifically aimed at the growing security requirements and regulatory guidance for companies in Germany.

DATAGROUP, a leading German IT service provider, launches the seventh generation of the CORBOX, its modular IT outsourcing kit. Some adjustments were made with a view to the changing requirements of companies in Germany and the focus is placed on four core services: CORSecurity, CORCloud, CORCompliance und CORIntelligence. They are deeply integrated into every service and ensure security, efficiency, adaptability and support customers to comply with the NIS2.

For more than ten years, CORBOX has been DATAGROUP’s established IT outsourcing product. The modular design of the services gives companies the flexibility to individually select those services they need. The new CORBOX includes nine modules which are specifically tailored to the needs of a dynamic business world: Cloud Services, SAP Services, Application & Data Management, Network Services, Security Services, Communication & Collaboration, Workplace Services, Compliance Services and Service Desk.

“The CORBOX provides our customers with services that are not only geared towards the highest security and compliance requirements but also offer the flexibility to integrate new technologies in a way that exactly aligns with their IT strategy”, explains Andreas Baresel, Chief Executive Officer of DATAGROUP. “It is our aim to support companies in an increasingly complex digital world while giving them the future viability they need.”

Extended IT Security Standards and Compliance Services

Comprehensive extensions in IT security are an essential component of the new CORBOX generation since this area is the foundation of every modern IT landscape. CORSecurity provides extensive protection, which is integrated at all levels of the CORBOX, from infrastructure up to individual applications. This integrated security architecture offers effective defensive measures against cyber threats and ensures security, particularly in sensible areas such as critical infrastructures. The CORBOX also assists companies in flexibly addressing the growing regulatory requirements such as NIS2. DATAGROUP’s CORCompliance core service provides customers with ready-to-use services that meet these requirements – for industries which are already regulated as well as for companies which did not have to deal with regulatory requirements before.

Cloud and AI-Supported Automation for Efficiency

As cloud technologies continue to be the center of digital transformation, CORCloud allows companies to use the appropriate cloud for their individual needs. The multi-cloud management of the CORBOX seamlessly connects different cloud models such as private, enterprise, sovereign or hyperscaler clouds and offers scalability and adaptability to the changing business needs.
