NEPTUN SMULDERS Engineering GmbH is a joint venture between NEPTUN WERFT and Smulders and realizes offshore converter platforms for the energy transition. As a growth-oriented company, NEPTUN SMULDERS needed an immediately usable, scalable ERP system right from the start. Together with DATAGROUP, SAP Cloud ERP (Public Cloud) was implemented in a short space of time, creating the digital foundation for growth, transparency and further integrations.
Digital basis for a growing high-tech engineering company
The merger of the two companies created a highly specialized engineering environment without existing IT systems or legacy data. At the same time, there was an immediate need for professional, end-to-end core processes.
The aim was to provide an ERP platform that is immediately available, consistently based on best practices and at the same time ensures scalability, transparency and compliance. The aim was to create a stable technological basis that would support the rapid expansion of the company and enable future growth.
Fast implementation based on standardized SAP best practices
DATAGROUP developed a tailor-made cloud ERP architecture and consistently relied on standardized processes. This was based on a clearly structured, agile approach with defined roles, responsibilities and established communication channels.
The project followed the SAP Activate methodology across all phases and was supported by SAP Cloud ALM. Fit-to-standard workshops ensured that the SAP best practices were optimally aligned with the company's requirements.
The technical implementation focused on setting up a fully standardized and scalable ERP landscape and the rapid provision of productive core processes. Transparency, compliance and governance were ensured from the outset. Thanks to a close, agile working model and regular coordination, decisions were made quickly and project progress was continuously ensured.
