CURRENTA Extends IT Outsourcing Agreement with DATAGROUP

Extended services agreed with a volume of some EUR 12m over five years

Pliezhausen, 13 June 2023. CURRENTA GmbH & Co. OHG, manager and operator of one of the largest chemical sites in Europe, and its subsidiaries Tectrion GmbH and Chemion Logistik GmbH fully rely on the IT services of DATAGROUP. The North-Rhine Westphalia-based company has extended its existing IT outsourcing agreement by a total volume of EUR 12m within a period of five years. DATAGROUP will now also be responsible for data center services, database operations, application operations, identity and access management as well as service integration and management. These services are an addition to those services around service desk and field service that have already been delivered by DATAGROUP since 2020. The total order volume adds up to c. EUR 21m.

“DATAGROUP has provided a convincing performance in the last years and has been a reliable partner at eye-level with excellent skills and knowledge. The experts have won us over in the recent tender by looking into our requirements in detail and developing customized solutions”, Sandra Reussner, Head of Demand & Service Orchestration in the IT division of CURRENTA describes the reason for the decision in favor of DATAGROUP.

It is planned to initially go through a transition phase for the newly agreed services, which will have several subprojects and is expected to be completed in 2024. Amongst others, this period also includes a full server migration from the previous service provider. DATAGROUP’s IT services will then support some 7,000 clients at the three sites of CURRENTA.
