DATAGROUP Acquires Hamburg-based IT Service Provider HanseCom Gesellschaft für Informations- und Kommunikationsdienstleistungen mbH

Pliezhausen, April 03, 2017. DATAGROUP SE (WKN A0JC8S) acquires outsourcing specialist HanseCom Gesellschaft für Informations- und Kommunikationsdienstleistungen mbH in Hamburg. With the acquisition, DATAGROUP accelerates its growth in the core business with IT services, especially in the area of Cloud and SAP services. HanseCom generates annual revenue of c. EUR 16m with some 70 employees.

HanseCom GmbH operates IT infrastructures for medium-sized enterprises and advises customers on the further development of their IT. The company offers managed services for all areas of IT operations. HanseCom has special expertise in Cloud and SAP services as well as in application management and thus strengthens DATAGROUP’s full-service portfolio CORBOX.

HanseCom generates the majority of revenue with long-term service agreements. This guarantees high economic stability and very good predictability of income. DATAROUP thus further expands the share of recurring income in revenue. HanseCom provides services to customers in Germany and Europe from the company’s head office in Hamburg. In addition to Hamburger Hochbahn AG, customers mainly include medium-sized companies of all sectors.

“HanseCom is a fantastic, successful company that fits perfectly in our buy and build strategy”, commented DATAGROUP CEO Dirk Peters. “Services and competences are an ideal fit to our full-service offer CORBOX. Customer satisfaction is first priority for HanseCom – and this is something we also have in common. HanseCom contributes many long-standing, very good customer relations. This opens up new and very attractive joint growth opportunities.”

With this acquisition, DATAGROUP strengthens its local presence in Hamburg and Northern Germany. The regional proximity to customers is very important, especially for large Mittelstand companies, DATAGROUP’s core target group, and is a competitive advantage. It is closely linked to DATAGROUP’s high customer satisfaction, which recently has been confirmed in the 2016 IT Outsourcing Study by Whitelane Research and sourcing advisor Navisco. In this study, DATAGROUP ranked second among the leading 22 medium-sized and international outsourcing service providers in Germany and moved up another place compared to the previous year.

In the course of the integration of HanseCom DATAGROUP seeks to create additional synergies and further improve the profitability of the new subsidiary. This will primarily be possible through a stronger standardisation of the service production as well as economies of scale in the areas of service desk, Cloud and SAP. “Thanks to a stronger industrialised service provision based on the model of CORBOX, we will be able to fulfil customer orders even more economically”, said DATAGROUP CEO Max H.-H. Schaber. “Additionally, the relocation of HanseCom’s own data centre to the DATAGROUP Data Center in Frankfurt will help us to achieve significant cost savings while, at the same time, quality and security are further improved for the customers. With the acquisition, we continue to consistently push forward our growth strategy DATAGROUP 2020!”

This is already the 19th acquisition for DATAGROUP since its IPO in 2006. Inorganic growth is an integral part of the corporate strategy DATAGROUP 2020 with the help of which DATAGROUP wants to become the leading Cloud and outsourcing provider for companies with between 250 and 5,000 workplaces in Germany by 2020.

The company invites all interested investors, analysts and journalists to a conference call with DATAGROUP CEO Max H.-H. Schaber on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at 11.00 am CET. The dial-in number is +49 30 232 53 14 69.
