IT Services for the Evangelical Church of Württemberg

The Evangelical Church of Württemberg started the project to provide its congregations with more efficient, cost effective, and safer IT facilities, including infrastructure and full-services. The main idea was to be able to provide the parish offices all the high-quality modules of a functioning IT operation from a single source. Up until then, the congregations were decentralized. The IT environment was very heterogeneous, with a broad variety of implemented hardware and software.

Through a bidding process, DATAGROUP was selected for the second time as IT provider for the project. The following CORBOX modules are currently part of the project:

Data Center Services
Network Services
End User Services
Application Management Services
Communication + Collaboration Services
Service Desk

The overarching focus of the project was to lighten the everyday tasks of the pastors and so that they could devote more time to the important work they do in the community.

Project Goals:

Reduce workload through standardization and central support
Professional support so that IT can be a reliable, daily tool in the congregations
Support of the work done by pastors through shared e-mail, calendar, and filing systems
Simplification of relocation and substitution processes through standardized systems, uniform data structure, and centralized user administration
Software use in compliance with statutory regulations
Use of uniform programs and central maintenance
Improved networking between church facilities and secure communication via the Internet
Efficient and uniform data protection as well as effective data security based on DSGVO
Integrity of creation through “paperless” office and green PC
High level of acceptance by clergy
