The ERP system is the heart of a company. This makes it all the more important that the software always works perfectly. PETER JENSEN wanted to set up its new ERP and warehouse management system in the cloud and chose DATAGROUP as its partner. The IT service provider ensured that the software was set up quickly in the cloud, that third-party service providers were connected via interfaces and that the software is always kept up to date and runs smoothly.
Into the cloud in just eight weeks
PETER JENSEN GmbH, a building services wholesaler, was looking for a solution to optimize its core applications. The aim was to set up the ERP system and warehouse system on the latest version in the cloud and outsource the management of the application. In addition, an OCR system, a CRM and a business intelligence solution were also introduced. The numerous interfaces to third-party service providers that supplied the core application with data were also a challenge.
DATAGROUP took on the challenge with proven expertise. Around 16 servers were migrated to the new cloud environment within just eight weeks. This involved a data volume of around 10TB. The diverse interfaces of the core application and the newly introduced solutions as well as the coordination of the partners involved were implemented with the utmost precision and expertise. Thanks to DATAGROUP's extensive experience as well as the close cooperation and short decision-making paths on both sides, the migration was realized very quickly.
DATAGROUP also optimized the infrastructure for the employees: While the core applications were previously hosted in PETER JENSEN's own cloud, which meant long connection times due to VPN and data center connectivity, the system is now set up with terminal servers directly in the DATAGROUP data center at the Frankfurt Internet node. Employees can log into their systems directly via this terminal farm and benefit from significantly increased speed and responsiveness. Thanks to DATAGROUP's close cooperation with Microsoft, the company also benefits from demand-oriented license management.
DATAGROUP's services for PETER JENSEN will in future include managed servers, managed backup, managed storage, network services and application management services. This means that the systems are now continuously hosted, updated, maintained and supported by DATAGROUP and PETER JENSEN can concentrate fully on its core business.
