Everything under control: DATAGROUP success story with MEZ GmbH

A well-coordinated team: DATAGROUP has been supporting the customer MEZ GmbH, a specialist in the production of sewing and knitting accessories, in the use and further development of its SAP application landscape as part of SAP Application Management Services (SAP AMS) for many years. An optimally coordinated team of DATAGROUP experts works together with the customer's key users and takes over the management of the SAP systems.

Success down to the last detail

MEZ uses two different SAP systems: the ERP system and SAP Business Warehouse (SAP BW).

  • SAP ERP stands for Enterprise Resource Planning and is a comprehensive business software that supports companies in automating and optimizing their business processes. It offers modules for various business areas such as finance, procurement, production, sales, human resources and more.
  • SAP Business Warehouse is a database and reporting solution from SAP that enables companies to extract, transform, store and access data from various sources. It is used to analyze business data and create reports and dashboards and is closely integrated with other SAP applications to facilitate strategic planning and analysis of the company.

DATAGROUP supports MEZ as an AMS partner at eye level in identifying and resolving errors and problems in the SAP system. This ensures system stability and reduces downtimes. DATAGROUP experts also use proactive monitoring and performance analyses to identify and secure potential vulnerabilities before they affect business operations. In addition, the SAP systems are regularly maintained to ensure smooth operation and maintain a low level of disruption.

SAP AMS therefore comprises various individual services based on the DATAGROUP ITSM model, which together ensure the short-term support of SAP applications. In addition, SAP AMS also offers medium and long-term maintenance and further development of an SAP application. Individual requirements such as customer-specific solutions and enhancements are also developed, implemented and, of course, maintained. For example, an external tool (Every Angle) was replaced and its applications transferred to SAP BW, which represents a cost-saving optimization and emphasizes DATAGROUP's partnership approach.

MEZ not only benefits from DATAGROUP's standardized CORBOX services, which ensure simple and smooth operation of IT and applications, but also from the DATAGROUP experts' deep understanding of the company's individual needs thanks to the long-standing partnership. With a view to the future, the team is always at the customer's side and supports the further development of the IT strategy by advising on the implementation of new business processes, the transfer of new SAP functionalities to SAP AMS regular operation and the continuous improvement of SAP AMS.

Communication as a key element

The prerequisite for successful SAP application support is the provision of a service desk. This acts as a "single point of contact" for the customer's (key) users, i.e. it receives all service requests and faults and manages orders. The service desk also ensures that the customer can be reached by telephone and that response times for the issues being dealt with are adequate.

Good communication is therefore a central building block for successful collaboration - but how can this be achieved when working remotely? DATAGROUP and MEZ have opted for the so-called EDI service, which is used to exchange messages between the SAP landscapes and external partners. DATAGROUP provides this data exchange platform to map partner connections, monitoring and surveillance and to rectify any errors that occur in the exchange of messages at a technical level. By working remotely, MEZ can access a wider range of talent and experts, regardless of their location. It also reduces office and travel costs while enabling seamless collaboration across long distances thanks to advanced communication technology.

"We really appreciate the direct contact with the DATAGROUP team of experts and how they quickly find tailor-made solutions for our challenges in SAP operations. We can say with conviction that we completely trust DATAGROUP as a consistent partner with its high level of expertise."
